Publication Ethics and Malpractice statement

Techno Insight (TI) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access, scholarly journal, published bimonthly for researchers, developers, technical managers, and educators in the field of Engineering and Techniques . It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. It is therefore important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, the publisher and the society of society-owned or sponsored journals.

Duties of Editors

Publication Decisions:

The Editor in Chief of TI is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. Editors decisions to accept or reject a paper for publication should be based on the editorial boards reviews and papers importance.

Fair play in review:

Editors should strive to ensure that peer review at their journal is fair, unbiased and timely. The Manuscripts shall be evaluated solely on their intellectual merit without regard to author’s race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, or citizenship.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest:

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used by anyone who has a view of the manuscript in his or her own research without the express written consent of the author. Editors should require reviewers to disclose any potential competing interests before agreeing to review a submission.

Confidentiality:

The Editor in Chief and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher. The editor must ensure that information regarding manuscripts submitted by the authors is kept confidential.

Plagiarism:

The Editor in Chief or authorized editorial staffs must check the originality and similarity of all the submitted manuscripts by adequate softwares or tools.

Duties of Authors

Reporting standards:

Authors of reports of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Manuscripts are to be edited in accordance to the submission guidelines of the proceedings.

Originality:

Authors must certify that their work is entirely unique and original and and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others this must be appropriately cited or quoted.

Acknowledgement of Sources:

Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Author(s) should acknowledge all sources of data used in the research and cite publications that have influenced their research.

Redundancy:

Submitting the same paper to more than one journal constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

Authorship of the Paper:

Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception,design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors.The corresponding author should also ensure that all the authors and co-authors have seen and approved the final submitted version of the manuscript and their inclusion as co-authors.

Data Access and Retention:

Authors should retain raw data related to their submitted paper, and must provide it for editorial review, upon request of the editor.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest:

All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.

Fundamental errors in published works:

When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her submitted manuscript, the author must immediately notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to correct the paper.

Duties of Reviewers
Confidentiality:

Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to, or discussed with, others except as authorized by the Editor in Chief. All submitted manuscripts are to be treated as privileged information. Editors should provide guidance to reviewers on everything that is expected of them including the need to handle submitted material in confidence.

Standards of Objectivity:

Review of submitted manuscripts will be conducted objectively.There shall be no personal criticism of the author.The reviewers shall express their views clearly, with supporting arguments.

Acknowledgement of Sources:

Reviewers must ensure that authors have acknowledged all sources of data used in the research. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument had been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. A reviewer should also call to the editor’s attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.

Contribution to editorial decision:

Peer review assists the Editor in Chief and the editorial board in making editorial decisions while editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the paper.

Promptness:

If a reviewer believes it is not possible for him/her to review the research reported in a manuscript within the designated guidelines, or within stipulated time, he/she should notify the editor, so that the accurate and timely review can be ensured.

Conflict of Interest:

Reviewers should not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.
